Family Spotlight: The Buzaki Family
This month, Stroll Inside the Gates spotlights the Buzaki family. Michael (Mike) Buzaki is originally from Hollywood, Florida, and he attended Georgia Tech for a degree in Industrial Engineering. Meghan Imrie hails from Toronto, Canada, and she attended Brock University for Kinesiology. The couple first met in Toronto, at a local restaurant called Earls. “We were both out with colleagues after work and struck up a conversation while ordering drinks,” Meghan recounts. “Now we are happily married with a 2-year-old son named Noah, who was born on Valentine's Day!” Their family also would not be complete without their sweet Mini-Aussiedoodle named Jefferson.
Mike works as a supply chain consultant, while Meghan is a dedicated mom and a technical recruiter. The family first visited Reynolds for Meghan’s birthday, but they quickly fell in love with the area and all the amazing opportunities here, so they decided this was the perfect place to raise their family. Mike and Meghan purchased a lot in the landing at the end of 2020 and finished building their home in January of 2023.
Mike, Meghan, and Noah could not be happier with their home inside the gates. “We love being surrounded by nature and taking long walks on the various hiking trails,” adds Meghan. “We have also been blown away by how welcoming the community has been!” Noah attends the First Methodist Church of Lake Oconee Preschool program two mornings a week, and Mike and Meghan have been so amazed by the incredible program Jenn Anthony has created. Noah absolutely loves his teachers, Ms. Mandy and Ms. Betty! Meghan is also a proud member of the Momco group at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church.
In their free time, the Buzaki family loves to take advantage of all that Georgia’s Lake Country has to offer. Meghan especially loves to play tennis, workout, and do hot yoga, while Mike enjoys playing golf, tennis, working out, and playing chess with friends from the community! Noah, on the other hand, mostly loves to ride his bike and swim at the landing pool. The family’s favorite local spots include the following gems: Max and Molly for children’s clothing, Table at the Lake for a date night dinner, The Tavern for family dinners (and so Noah can play on the green), The Well for hot yoga and cold plunge, The Coffee Train for organic coffee beans and delicious lattes, and Paws and Play for doggie daycare and grooming.
