Meet the Beaver Family
This month, Stroll The Georgia Club spotlights the Beaver family. Scott and Erin Beaver are native Georgians, and they both grew up in the Gwinnett area. In fact, Scott and Erin attended rival high schools; Scott went to Brookwood, while Erin went to Parkview. The rivalry between these schools, especially during the football season, remains steadfast. Their football matchup is famously known as the "Battle of Five Forks", which today routinely draws crowds exceeding 10,000 fans.
Scott and Erin first met during their senior year. “Although we attended different schools, we already had some mutual friends through sports,” recounts Scott. “I played baseball at BHS, and she cheered at PHS. We started out as friends and kept in touch during college, but we didn’t truly reconnect until later on.” Scott attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the Terry College of Business, while Erin received her degree in Education from Georgia Southern University. After completing undergrad, Erin started work as a special education elementary school teacher at Trickum Middle School in Gwinnett. “One day, I walked into her classroom where she was teaching convinced her to head to mellow mushroom with me for dinner. This was not an official date - just a beer and a slice of pizza. Now, 25 years later, we have two kids and two dogs!”
Scott and Erin’s eldest, Savannah, is a rising junior at the University of Alabama. She graduated from North Oconee High School in 2024, where she was a varsity cheerleader. Savannah grew up dancing, and she happily embraced her talents every opportunity she could get, especially with the Oconee Youth School of Performance. She is a Phi Mu at Alabama. The youngest, Evan, is a rising junior at Prince Avenue Christian School, where he plays on the varsity baseball team. As Evan looks forward to college on the horizon, he currently has his sights set on either The University of Georgia or Samford University.
The Beaver family also wouldn’t be complete without Boomer and Bigly, their two adorable dogs. Boomer is a one-year-old Golden Retriever, and Bigly is a 6-year-old Yellow Labrador. “Nowadays, we typically operate our world around these two crazy pups!” exclaims Scott. “Now that both kids are older and doing something all the time - whether it’s college, baseball, work, or spending time with friends - our dogs are now the kids of the house!”
For work, Scott is the proud owner of Arch Partners Insurance, where he is also the primary insurance advisor. Arch Partners has built an exceptional reputation as one of the area’s premiere independent insurance and wealth management firms. Erin, on the other hand, has cherished her teaching position at Malcom Bridge Elementary for the last 13 years. She is also currently completing her master’s degree at Georgia Southern.
The Beaver family was originally drawn to The Georgia Club after their decision to downsize. “Savannah was planning for college, and we were looking for a smaller space,” adds Scott. “It turns out, living on several acres was not as fun as it appeared to be after a few years. We decided to come try the Country Club lifestyle with less to maintain and all the included amenities. Not only did we already have some friends living in the club, but Erin’s mom was also already living in here, so we thought it may be good to be close to her as well.” Scott also loves to play golf, so TGC’s courses were another major selling point. After deciding on the move, the Beaver’s former home sold quickly. With Evan getting closer to college, the family wanted to put themselves in a good position for the future, and the club has proven to be the perfect home. “We have really been blessed and happy that our decision worked out so well!" The Beaver family has had their home in TGC for just over 2 ½ years.
Over the last two years, The Beavers have truly grown to love life in The Georgia Club community. “The people are great, the club and the golf course are exceptional, and the location and the safety of the neighborhood have been fantastic,” Scott explains. “Also, the amenities are perfect for us and for guests of all ages.”
The Beavers love to stay active in their community in a number of ways, including regular attendance at Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Savannah also works at PUSH Pilates in both downtown Athens and Tuscaloosa, and Evan loves to volunteer in several local organizations around town. Scott is a coach for the North Oconee girls flag football team, who recently were awarded the title of 4a State Champs in 2025. In his free time, Scott loves to golf, work in the yard, and coach flag football. Erin, on the other hand, loves walking her dogs several times a day and exercising at the club. When she has summers off, she loves to spend a couple weeks at the beach.
“We first moved to the Athens area in 2005 and have really seen the Oconee/Athens community change drastically over the last 20 years. It has been such a blessing to raise our kids here and call this area of Georgia home.” – The Beaver Family
